Why did you come to Brazil?

Dear Readers, 

It's probably the most common question I've been asked since my arrival. 

First, I would like to welcome you. Before anything, I think it's important to give you a little more information myself. I was born in a small city between Ottawa and Montreal in Canada. My childhood was spent on the farm with my family were we produced a variety of products and animals.. [more about the beginning]

I'm writing to you from São Paulo, in fact, I have been living and teaching in Brazil since 2008. I left Canada at 23 years old in search of something different. There are various reasons that led me here. A series of event that I have decided to share with you. At the moment I'm teaching English and French, I'm now owner of my own small school names World Citizen Idiomas. We specialize in a variety of different uses of the language, for example, Business English, preparation for IELTS and TOEFL and of custom made classes for specific objectives. for travel, job interview etc..  

Since the beginning of my career as an Native English Teacher living abroad, I've had the chance to collaborate with a great amount of professionals from different sectors, specialties, students, retired people, surgeons, lawyers, news anchors,TV reporters, you name it, I've done it.

Apart from the affection for my job that I have grown to love, I would like to share my experiences, the reasons why I'm here, my motivations, my biography (parts of my life), my plans for the future. I hope it will inspire a few readers in doing the same, traveling the world, learn new cultures and maybe   and add to this fantastic journey that has not finished yet.

I've now lived for more than 11 years out of Canada. Dropping out of Electrical Engineering school, after numerous failures due to my lack of ambition and interest for the subject, mostly because of the  I've had to reconstruct my life, chose to teach English abroad as it was the best way to find work in Spain, where I fell in love for the first time. (will be going back to this story later) It was a way to change life, explore the world... will see how it goes.
